Portrait of DEFIANCE
In order to loosen my brush strokes, I patted thin paints on the surface with a foam, which has come out of a fruit box. Since I became a ceramist, I've become a junk collector, thinking I may be able to use someday. The foam was certainly worth saving. By the way, you should be able to see now a bison cow and calf at the right lower corner. The mother is teaching the white calf to climb the rocks.
These vases are for Japanese style flower arrangements called "Ikebana." They are for sale at $30~50 at Insideout Gallery in Hill City. (Click the images to enlarge them.)
